Cloud Connect/Places Introduction

Lutron's Cloud features allow installers to back up and restore the system's Project file and make remote changes to the system's programming. 
 
This article demonstrates how to use Lutron Designer's Connect features and navigate the Places menu.

<h2>Viewing Projects in the Places Menu<a id='ViewingProjects' target='_blank'></a></h2>

Open Lutron Designer and choose a system type to get started. Designer automatically loads the Connect Places menu.

To view a Place, hover your mouse over that Place's row and select Open.

To open a local Designer Project file, select Browse local at the bottom of the Connect Places screen.

Version History
To view the history of a Place click the three dots next to the Open button and select View Version History.

Note: Place history is not available in the Lutron Connect Portal.
 
 
The Version History screen displays a Quick Access menu and an Available Versions menu.

Note: The Current Version, Last Conversion, and Last Transferred versions only display if they apply to the system you are currently viewing.
 
You may add up to 100 characters of notes to each available version by clicking Add note in the Notes column.
 
 
 
 
Saving/Viewing a Place Note
Save Place Note is now supported when saving a project in Lutron Designer. This is available in all system types supported by Connect Places.
 
To save a Place note select File > Save Place Note from the top menu in Lutron Designer, or press Ctrl + Shift + S for the Save Place Note shortcut. Then, enter up to a 100-character message to capture the changes made.
 
 
To view a note, navigate to Connect Places and select View Version History.

Saved Place Notes appear in the Notes column under Available Versions.

Click on the Cloud icon (located in the top right corner next to the user's name) to view the project's current cloud status.

<h2>Performing a Remote Transfer<a id='remotetransfer' target='_blank'></a></h2>

Follow the steps below to perform a remote transfer in Lutron Designer:
<ol><li style='font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size: 16px;'>Click on the transfer tab.</li><li style='font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size: 16px;'>Confirm the processor(s) are online. Review the "Processor Status in Designer" section below for more information.</li><li style='font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size: 16px;'>Click Start Transfer to begin the remote transfer once all processors.</li></ol>

Processor Status in Designer

Navigate to the diagnostics tab and select the drop-down menu.
 
The diagnostic options in Designer are:
