<h3><u><b>Section (1):  Choosing the correct switch for your application</b></u></h3>
There are two main factors that will help you determine which Caseta Wall Switch is best suited for your application:<br> 
<ol><li><b>Do you have a Neutral connection (White Wire) in your switch box?</b></li></ol>

<div style='margin-left: 40px;'>US houses built from the mid 1980&#39;s typically have a neutral (white) wire in the switch box.  The neutral (white) wires are typically tied together with a wirenut.  Here is a picture of a typical switch box that contains neutral connections:<br><br><br>  <img alt='image.png' src='https://lutron.my.salesforce-sites.com/publicknowledge/servlet/rtaImage…; style='width: 412.986px;height: 308.993px;'></img><br><br>If you have a neutral in the box, we recommend using either the <u><b>PD-6ANS</b></u> -or- <u><b>PD-5ANS</b></u> for the best compatibility with LED lamps and fixtures.<br><br>If you do not have a neutral wire in the switch box or you are not certain, the <u><b>PD-5WS-DV</b></u> would be the correct model.  </div>
 

<ol start='2'><li><b>Does you application require 277volts?</b></li></ol>

<div style='margin-left: 40px;'><span style='left: 117.812px;'><span style='top: 1610.8px;'>The LUT-MLC load adapter is provided to help ensure proper operation of the in-wall switch with LED, fluorescent, and ELV lighting loads.  When controlling one of these load types, a LUT-MLC may be required, especially at lower wattages.  If the status LED on the in-wall switch is flashing or a solid red color, a LUT-MLC must be installed.  It is recommended to install a LUT-MLC with these load types regardless of wattage to guarantee best performance. </span></span> Click this <a href='https://webapiaw1proddat01st01.blob.core.windows.net/assets/documents/0…; target='_blank'>LINK</a> for the LUT-MLC Installation Instructions<br><br>NOTE:  The PD-5WS-DV switch does not require a neutral connection.  If a neutral connection is available in the wallbox, Lutron strongly recommends using the PD-5ANS / PD-6ANS where possible.  This will help address potential issues with LED lamp and fixture compatibility.<br> <b> </b></div>
