Why would you need to know if a device is a Main or Companion Unit?

Sunnata dimmers/switches all have a common look. A standalone Sunnata dimmer (Non-RF) looks the same as a RadioRA3 Sunnata PRO dimmer (RF/ Clear Connect Type-X) after installation. This was done to provide the homeowner with a uniform aesthetic. This can make it difficult to determine if a unit is a standalone device (not part of the RadioRA3 system), a companion (also non-RF), or a Sunnata PRO Main Dimmer when programming or troubleshooting is required.

Determining the device type with the faceplate installed and power applied:

All Sunnata dimmers, switches, and companions contain a FASS switch to locally disconnect power to the unit. The FASS Switch can be utilized to determine what type of Sunnata Product you have. Pull the FASS switch out to temporarily remove power.
